Miss Porter's School
This introductory, required course, graded pass/fail, focuses on providing inspiring, hands-on experiences and skill development in STEAM. With its emphasis on learning both technology and entrepreneurial and design thinking, the course will expose students to a wide range of eye-opening experiences with interactive, project-based activities; opportunities to learn about emerging technologies; virtual guest lectures from industry professionals; and design, production and research activities. The course culminates in a final individual and group project in which students design and develop a website addressing a social issue or problem, as well as participate in a “pitch event” with top teams having the opportunity to compete in business, pitch, and app challenges around the country.
